B30 - Interferon Signaling in Brain: The Impact of Amyloid and MIF Dynamics

Our research focuses on a protein called MIF and its impact on interferon responses and DNA damage in the brain, particularly related to Alzheimer's disease. Studies in mice have shown that reducing MIF can significantly improve memory, suggesting it plays a role in brain health. By exploring MIF's function, we aim to uncover how it influences interferon responses in the brain and contributes to DNA damage. This understanding could lead to innovative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases, offering new strategies for maintaining brain health as we age.
